Perry Belcher: Turning The Page

Dear Friends,

Today I decided to end my career as an internet marketing trainer. I have told so many of my students that when your 1% unhappy it’s time to get out. Now it’s time to follow my own advice.

Over the last 18 months or so I have had the privilege to meet and work with some of the coolest, kindest, most generous people I have ever known. I have truly enjoyed sharing my knowledge of internet marketing and social media marketing with each and every one of you.

So why would I quit? There are several reasons, but here are a few…

First, training and coaching, for me, is an all encompassing business. I took on every client’s challenges as my own and and my time with my family has been very limited since I began on this path. I look very forward to focusing on just being dad and a husband for a while.

Secondly, while there are a great many people who have shown me a great deal of love, there are a few that have shown a heavy dose of hate and anger, partially because of my past. This group has unfortunately been much more vocal and harsh.

While I can take reasonable criticism, today I have concerns for my safety and the safety of family.

Third, I remembered that it’s much more fun and profitable to be a marketer than it is to teach internet marketing…a truth that someone had to hit me over the head to help me remember.

So, that being said I need to make a clean break….

I have asked that all my internet marketing training products be removed from the market.

I am in the process of removing all internet marketing related materials form my blogs.

Over the next bit of time I will be reverting my social media connections back to close personal friends.

I will have canceled all future internet marketing and social media speaking opportunities and will not accept new ones.

In short, I am taking my life back to private.

My current clients will be supported by Ryan Deiss’ company, Infomastery, but I will be creating no new internet marketing trainings and I have canceled all future speaking engagements regarding internet marketing.

For any current customers and clients who are still owed coaching/consulting from me, I will still be hanging around for as long as it takes to make sure that you are taken care of. In other words, while my public persona will more or less vanish, I’ll still be helping you privately and WILL NOT violate prior agreements. (NOTE: This includes “Social Media Money System” customers who are owed coaching calls with me.)

If you have any questions or concerns about any of this, please contact customer support at: support@drivingtraffic.com

…or by phone at: 512-600-4363

I appreciate your care and understanding and I wish each and every one of you great success in your future endeavors.

Sincerely,
Perry Belcher

  1. Howdy Perry,

I just to say that you are an amazing man and certainly someone to admire, I had the brief privilege of of having lunch and dinner with you in Austin and at the Alanta Stomper Event and you are certainly a man of your word, with passion and integrity. That is something that is missing from many people in the business arena.

You have impacted so many people in a positive way because you spoke from the heart and you truly know what is important.

You are always welcome on my doorstep and I wish you all the best with your kids and your Wife. They are certainly lucky and bless that you are their father and husband.

    Have a wonderful day.

    Hey Perry,

I am a pretty jaded been around the block kinda guy.I pretty much believe most of the folks out there selling their ” get rich quick make money stomper systems of the day” are generally sleazy snake oil purveyors. But I have to say YOU were NOT one of them! I actually remember meeting with my friend Sterling from Internet Business Mastery and asking him who out of all the guys pushing their stuff out there is the real deal? Without hesitation YOUR name came up.

I have been in your exact situation and it was devastating. I too have lost a million plus dollar business wrestled away from me by a couple unscrupulous partners then left with the ashes and blame. I can’t explain the feelings of isolation and betrayal. At the time I had a business mentor who was pretty powerful in his own right. He was the guy who started UGG boots. He basically said If you don’t make a few enemy’s you aren’t doing business. The he basically told me to stand up dust myself off and get out there and kick some ass because that is what I was meant to do! I did exactly that and I know you will too.

So good luck to you my friend, I know you will excel in what ever you do and “DON’T LET THE BASTARDS GET YOU DOWN!”

    Hi Perry

I just read your post and it’s unfortunate to lose your content that I so greatly admire. Equally unfortunate is the choice that you have made to bow out of providing great educational tools for the internet marketer. In this day and age it is sad that wing nuts choose to derail postive content and take responsibility themselves.
Be safe, family comes first, best of luck and hope to see you down the road.

I’m very sorry to hear this, Perry, but I certainly understand.

I know we haven’t had a chance to follow up from our last meeting, but I’d still very much like to. Let’s just have lunch or something one day — don’t even have to talk business.

    Perry,

We are certainly sad to see you go, and you will be missed. Know that you have all the support of the people who respect you, and your impression on us will be lasting!

You were one of the rarest of role models for a new marketer, you always fearlessly told it like it is and truly blazed a path for us to follow in your footsteps.

Good luck in all that you do, and best wishes to you and your family!

    Thanks again for everything,

    Ann Whitehurst

  6. Perry,

You are the master trainer and you have made a huge difference in what I am doing and what I am about. Who you are is one remarkable human being that deserves the very best planet earth has to offer. Thank you for having crossed my path. We will likely do so again.

    Hi Perry,

As someone just really getting ready to ramp up my business, I have watched some of your videos and read some of your stuff….it was always entertaining and always very informative.

It’s a shame to lose someone of your caliper and passion from the public side of the industry.

Good luck and enjoy your family :-)

This news comes as bittersweet to me. I should have followed you a lot more closely than I have over the past year. I became acquainted with your Internet Marketing skill about a year ago when you had the free twitter videos. This was before Twitter did whatever they did to make their site just a bit faster, and me having an old computer complicated my activity there even further.

I went through a good number of your free videos before I gave up on twitter back then. You are an awesome marketer, and give very good information with no nonsense delivery. After I gave up, even though I put no action behind it, I followed anything that had your name on it, at least superficially.

It was a few months later that I learned of your troubled past before getting into internet marketing. But by the time I had heard of it, it only made me admire you, because you had the tenacity after doing things the wrong way and cheating them out of money to turn it around and do the right thing by everyone, and in such a big way.

Although I am regretful that you are leaving the internet marketing training scene without me having taken advantage of the information that you gave, I understand wholeheartedly wanting to have time for, and also protect your family.

I don’t know how everyone else feels, but I know that you will be missed by me.

I just discovered one of your YouTube video on Social Media training. I thought it was pretty good so I tweeted it. But your Twitter account didn’t work, so I went back to Youtube to check your profile and found this. I admire your courage to make a radical change and decision. Good luck on your future endeavor. God bless you and your family.

  11. Hi Perry

I love your work and your humour – and you’ll always be welcome in my home here in London, England.

    Cheers,

I think Kenya said it best…I just recently came across your stuff as I am fairly new to IM…I’ve had the privilege to view one of your webinars (on social media) a few months back and was really impressed with you, what a talent u r, u can draw 2! (plus you made me laugh and that’s a good thing!) Jeesh, I thought Matt Bacak talked fast….I’m sorry to see u leave, I would’ve loved to seen more stuff by you, hey u are admired by A LOT of people, not to mention respected, so f*%$ the others that think they don’t have any skeletons, pompous jerks…I wish u the best in ur travels and Ryan is great, just saw one of his webinars (3 Step Formula). Be well my friend…

Oh, BTW, I should know country music bands, seeing I live in the mountains of NC, but I don’t get out much…however, the holidays are here and I will probably get out more….if I hear of any bands needing songwriting I will forward ur info to them….somehow, I can picture u in that scene. :-)

Tell me what YOU think!
