  1. Let me get this straight…

Ryan and Perry are sat in the bathtub in their underwear recording this product. xD

PERRY: “We’ll tell you about that in another product…”

    RYAN: “No… No we won’t.”

    rofl - luff it guys.

    -David

  2. Sounds good; loved the “don’t need permission” part and liked the “be conversational” piece. People can access information anywhere, they’re looking to relate to someone’s spin so keep it real.

    Thanks!

  3. Kristen says:

Great interview guys - the resources you provide are wonderful and you really take the fear out of audio products by demonstrating how easy it can be. I always battle the how much you give away- podcasting/talk radio and what you can monetize.

Great job to go from bare bones beginning to end result!

  4. Rich says:

Very thorough. Probably convinced me to use audio and I’m a technology phobe.

I couldn’t see the resource links mentioned in the audio (nothing there now)… I’m more a visual person. If you had a small online workbook/outline/checklist along with the cd, that’d help “hold my hand” while trying out the stuff.

Since I’d be new to making audio products, I need lots of comforting and hand holding. Perry, would you like to comfort me while holding my hand… say in my new white Corvette? I’m sure the passenger seat is comfortable. HA.

Ex. Like the “reporter model”… give me pre-set list of 10-15 questions that can be used and slightly altered to make great interviews for just about any subject. I think that’ll be on 1 of the links though. I don’t want to guess… give me a proven formula for interviewing. “Do it for me”.

I think it’s great content and very detailed, but with any product, people will get it, and not apply it. So if you can find ways to get people out of their comfort zones by breaking it down even to the stupidest detail and doing it for them, I think application would be higher. But that’s the fault of the user and not the info you gave.

But as far as content and the product, it’s close to perfect. I took a page and a half of notes.

As far as title… I’d have something with “Nuts & Bolts” in it and then use “how to blah blah” as subhead. I always like the Gary Halbert pre-head… “It’s cheating… but it works!” Throw that in also.

Wish I could give you more criticisms since that’d help you more than praise, but you did a great job.

  5. LanozaKnows says:

Fascinating topic…never considered this model as more than a “gift service” to potential clients (home buyers/sellers) as a way to build value and loyalty.

  6. Chris Morin says:

I guess I’m the 2nd to listen! wow… None of the links you talked about are there but I assume that’s just because I’m an early bird and they’ll be there later? hope so. Enjoyed it, it was obvious you guys were having a bunch of fun which made it fun to listen to. I agree with you about the audio’s. I tend to listen to them passively or actively while I’m multi tasking.

  7. Ken Lyons says:

Awesome interview! I agree with you that this is the best way to consume information. I do a lot of videos but see myself doing more audios and podcastng in ‘09. Again, great product & info! Ken

p.s.- on a different topic. Do you have any thoughts on SpeedPPC. Not sure if it was on twitter or somewhere else but I saw you were looking at it. Any thoughts?

  8. Gerald S. says:

    Ryan and Peter,
You guys really shared some great information on creating audio products. I also appreciated all the resources you gave and I’m looking forward to reading the reference information you mentioned on drivingtraffic site. I’d like to get the recording of this as an mp3 so I can listen to it again in the car.
    Thanks again,
    Gerald

  9. Dude..I tried all of the links in this awesome audio, but none of them worked.

  10. Do you still have the list of websites and resources mentioned?

  11. Great Interview guys! Even for someone like me who’s an accomplished musician and used to recording in my home studio, I was eating this up. Thanks again!

  12. avenuegirl says:

I tried this http://drivingtraffic.com/structure and the link doesn’t work - see someone else did too. You just threw money on the floor you silly men sitting in a closet in your underwear. LOL I understand if you are still developing the pages, but you just lost 12 or more (depending on who else comes here) potential customers by not having something on those pages like a “hey come back when it’s done - check out what we do have ready”

I think you should consider a shorter version of this recording for this post - that gives you the option to hear the full version.

Good point about marketing. You can have the best product in the world but no one will ever know if you don’t know how to market it.

Audio still lives. I’m a video gal but there are times when I can’t watch something and just need to get some information.

  13. Barry says:

Fantastic recording guys - love it. Give me quite a few ideas - thanks a bunch.

  14. Hey Perry,

    Loved the recording!

The quality was great and you covered a ton of great tips… Links evidently are not setup yet under drivingtraffic.com…

    Great stuff…

  15. I enjoyed the podcast, but I didn’t enjoy typing in all the links to additional resources only to have zero of them work.

Are the links coming, or was that just some sort of traffic trick? ;-)

  16. Good advice. The quality was decent. The USB microphones really add to the recording quality. I have to get one now that I’m playing around with audio recording.

  17. Katy says:

Perry and Ryan, this was great! I really learned a lot, but not too much that I’m overwhelmed. I can’t believe it was just over an hour.

I hope those links will be live shortly as they sound like there’s even still more info available. I’ll be getting my USB mic any day now to get started (and it will save me from having to borrow my husband’s recording unit every time I want to record).

    Thanks again!

  18. Dennis Bay says:

great free tool! THanks for the recommendation. This will really help those who need something free and good for recording audio files for the web.

    THanks!

    Dennis Bay

  19. You guys are hilarious! Except, I tried to stick my PC under my pillow so I’de wake up richer and all I got was a serious crick in my neck! Oh well, I guess I’ll have to stick with my lucky talisman! Or maybe…do a little bit of work???
Good audio guys, I’m filing it in the front of the top drawer.

  20. Miss G says:

I love it! I came to the realization while just listening to you that I absorb information so much better from audio than actually watching a video tutorial. Thanks soo soo much for this, awesome advice. I have to agree with the above comment you guys are funnnny and cuuuuuute sitting in your underwear :) lol

  21. MJStammer says:

I always seem to be the last one to the party … but the best stuff always happens near the end :)

Guys, I have 5 pages of notes - I was typing pretty much non-stop for the entire 78 minutes. You guys talk FAST.

I’ll be checking back for when the links are live.

    Great stuff.

  22. Susan says:

If I hear of someone needing your service, I’ll let you know.

  23. Amy Boyack says:

This is great information. Thanks for helping me with my fears. I’ve been wanting to get some recording equipment and start doing some audio stuff. I had no idea what direction to go with it. Thanks for the great ideas. You’re so much fun to listen to. I’ll definitely listen to this over and over.

  24. t.sterling says:

I haven’t finished listening to the entire recording, but I definately intend to. I’m presently halfway through it but I kept being interrupted with random events of life. But from what I heard so far, I feel confident in knowing I can be an expert in certain things I’m very familiar with. Say, movies for example, or certain things in the entertainment field, to a certain extent.

As for the recording goes, I’d like to do podcasting at some point, and I was waiting until I got a camera, but I could just record my voice instead. Who really needs to see me talk when I’m not necessarily showing anything? Regardless, very insightful information so far. I shall continue the rest shortly.

  25. llenar says:

sound quality is good, resources SUCK! too bad

  26. Hope says:

The information was fantastic! I learned so much useful information to get me going. Although, i was very disappointed that none of the resources were listed on the drivingtraffic.com site.

Come on - you could have at least given us one or two of those checklists/sample documents.

    Thanks for the information.

  27. Annie says:

    Read through all the comments.

Agree, I can hear both men speaking very well. Fact that if you have to clarify you are fully clothed, kinda make people doubt it is a good marketing tool. See it to believe, that is the whole idea of video process.

  28. Tinu says:

I would/will buy this. Perry/Ryan said something on Twitter that led me to a video, that made me look for Perry, that led me here.

    Favorite parts:

    “Wow… that’s… NOT TRUE.”

“Just to clarify, we are both fully clothed.”

“I created it while I was on the toilet.”

“Ryan’s probably made hundreds of products while on the toilet.”

I want the resources links, and if they were included with the audio, it would be worth the price not to need to actually take notes.

“If you don’t know what Google is, [Ryan interjects, We can't help you] take this CD and throw it out the window.”

    More feedback:

I listened to this fracker three fracking times today, Just for the entertainment value. Learning while you’re laughing is awesome. You can probably do just fine making audio products that aren’t funny, or by people with charisma. But I think your bromance chemistry is worth a few extra bucks.

Here’s funny: 80% of what you said is stuff I know - and the rest was platinum knowledge. What does that matter? It matters that I still want to buy this. With a transcript and all the links included in a pdf file, and say, a checklist, $49 bucks.

You’ve inspired me to actually ACT on what I know- good angle to get people who are considered “experts” already. So, I would pay to be able to download this, just to be able to keep playing it when I’m on my morning walk or in the car.

PS, I love the word Bazoodle. Poetic license rocks.

  29. Perry, would love to hear your audio here, but can’t get the player to work for some reason. Flash is all updated and such.

    Maybe an MP3 download someplace?

    Thanks,

    …jp

  30. I get the same thing in two different browsers. Any way to hear that audio?

  31. Dan Kelly says:

Looks like the MP3 has been moved. Would love to hear it.

  32. almir says:

    i can’t hear the audio

  33. Marc R says:

    Hey Perry,

    Terrific listen.
    btw
The list of questions you said were at

    http://drivingtraffic.com/reporter/

is not a list of questions. Just this

    EzineArticles.com
    ArticleCity.com
    GoArticles.com

    Alibris.com

    Did it get moved?

    All the Best!

  34. Hassan Ajmal says:

This is awesome. Thank you so much for the value.
I have also found that you can EASILY make 60 min plus
audio content very easily if you know a thing or two
about a niche. Its freakin awesome.

  35. Great stuff, Perry and Ryan. Thanks!
